Variance

\(\rightarrow\) To compute the range of data use the formula

=MAX([data set])-MIN([data set])

You can enter [data set] by putting in the range e.g. A2:A16 or just click and highlight all of the data while writing the equation.

\(\rightarrow\)  To compute the population variance of data use the formula

=(STDEV.P([data set]))^2

You can enter [data set] by putting in the range e.g. A2:A16 or just click and highlight all of the data while writing the equation.

\(\rightarrow\)  To compute the population standard deviation of data use the formula

=STDEV.P([data set])

You can enter [data set] by putting in the range e.g. A2:A16 or just click and highlight all of the data while writing the equation.

\(\rightarrow\)  To compute the sample variance of data use the formula

=(STDEV.S([data set]))^2

You can enter [data set] by putting in the range e.g. A2:A16 or just click and highlight all of the data while writing the equation.
